We know "contact us" can feel like shouting into a void. Here's exactly what happens when you submit this form:
A real person reviews your message and determines who on our team is best suited to help. (Usually much faster; most inquiries get a response within a few business hours.)
We schedule a brief conversation, typically 20-30 minutes, to understand your situation. This isn't a sales call. We'll ask about your project, your constraints, and what success looks like. You can ask us anything.
After the call, we'll tell you honestly whether PDE is the right fit. If we're not, we'll say so, and if we know someone who might be better suited, we'll point you in that direction.
We'll propose a scoped engagement with clear deliverables and transparent pricing. Most projects start with a focused phase that lets both sides validate the working relationship before committing to larger scope.
Timeline Expectation: Discovery call typically scheduled within 2-3 business days of your inquiry.
Some people prefer not to fill out forms. We get it.

Yes, frequently. Most clients have internal teams and engage us to fill skill gaps or add bandwidth. We're designed for seamless integration with your team working directly with ours as a unified team.
Depends on scope and our current workload. For individual specialists, often 1-2 weeks. For larger engagements, we start with a scoping phase that can kick off quickly. We'll be upfront about timing from the first conversation.
Varies significantly by scope. We work on time-and-materials with clearly defined phases and transparent budgets. We're happy to discuss ballpark ranges once we understand what you're building.
Burnaby, BC (Greater Vancouver), Canada. We serve clients throughout North America; our remote collaboration processes make geography a non-issue for most work.
That's fine. Many conversations happen months before actual projects begin. We're happy to discuss your situation even if you're just exploring options.
When you contact PDE, you're starting a conversation with people who understand product development challenges because they solve them every day. We are all designers before we are sales people.
Depending on your needs, you might hear from:
Mathieu Schneider is the first person you're likely to talk to at PDE. He started over 20 years ago as an electronics designer, spearheaded PDE's entry into providing firmware services, and then took over as Chief Customer Officer in 2017.
When he's not working, he's running long distances and discovering the shear strength of human bones on his mountain bike.
Steve is the President and Chief Technology Officer of PDE, but he's also not afraid to get his hands dirty in the design arena. He's an electrical designer with 31 years of experience at PDE.
When Steve isn't being the president he can found setting up elaborate photo shoots, doing some woodworking, or spending time in the great outdoors.
Barney is an electronics designer and our resident expert in the fields of EMC/EMI and RF. He's been with the company over 19 years and handled the certification of many radio devices all over the world.
While he's am not working on cool projects or helping out customers and work friends, he can be found cruising around in his classic convertible, or exploring in the great outdoors with his family.
Nick Dawson-Edwards started as a firmware design co-op around 10 years ago and liked it so much he decided to stay. Now he leads the firmware team and helps make sure projects go smoothly.
Nick can be found hiking, cycling, and climbing when he's not at work.
Jason started in firmware development at PDE around 10 years ago and lead the charge into the web side of the IoT world taking up back and front end development.
When he's not making sure the bytes make it safely to the cloud he can be found on a climbing wall, running around outside, or building stuff in the shop.
We match you with the right person for your situation, not whoever happens to be available.
Every successful project we've completed began with someone reaching out. There's no commitment required, just a chance to discuss what you're building.
